Week 10 in Békéscsaba

Hi!

On Tuesday night we held the Halloween party for the branch and it was fun. We played a game called "I came from America", music chairs, had a few games for kids, and there were cookies and sweets. Elders Szuch, Neumiller, and I dressed up in cowboy costumes.

Wednesday was transfer day and it was good to go to Pest and meet with my missionary friends. Elder Shepherd came down on Friday, so I'm back in a tripanionship.

We taught a few lessons this week about the ten commandments, priesthood and auxiliary organizations, and overcoming challenges. We also had our English class with the advanced group. We were reading articles from a magazine and it was very good. We also played Uno after the lesson.

A very cool thing happened this week. Brigi, whom I taught in Kaposvár, was baptized! She has been investigating the church for ten years now, and her daughter served a mission in England. Brigi's mother, Magdus, was baptized a year ago. Elder and Sister Peterson, the elderly couple who served in Kaposvár (Elder Peterson is Magdus's "godfather"), came back to Kaposvár to go to the Temple with Magdus so she could receive her own endowment. It was a very nice experience, and Brigi was waiting for them outside. Then she decided that she wanted to be baptized, which was a huge surprise for everyone. The Petersons were about to leave for the U.S. on Friday evening, but Brigi wanted Brother Peterson to baptize her, so the baptism was on Friday morning. It's such good news and I'm really glad that another member of this family joined the church. It was a long process, but everyone has their own time. We have to be patient, trusting in the timing of the Lord, and everything will be well. The Church is true! :)

Lots of love,

Elder Gonzalez
