Week 23 in Békéscsaba

Hi!

This week we found a new investigator and a total of four investigators came to church on Sunday, so it was a week rich in numbers!

We met with a young man from our English classes and shared with him the message of the Restoration. He has already read the first six chapters of the Book of Mormon and he prays. He said that he feels a lot better and sees positive changes in his life after he began to meet with us. A few days later we met with him and with his girlfriend again in a cafe house. We drank hot chocolate and he asked why we did not drink coffee, so we taught them about the Word of Wisdom.

We talked to another investigator about family history. He showed us his family tree, and I showed him some pictures from my trip to Kalaznó and Hőgyész, and a picture of my family in front of the Toronto Temple. We also met another potential member of the church twice, and with him we talked about the purpose of life and read from Alma 42. On the second meeting we talked about baptism. He said that he didn't want to give up coffee or beer, and that he didn't have a strong faith in the gospel. We challenged him to live as a member of the Church for a full month and see how is life without alcohol and coffee. He agreed and we hope that he will be fine.

A new family moved to our congregation! A mom with four kids: two of primary age and two young women (7-15 years old, three girls, one boy). On Friday and Saturdays we helped them with the move. Some members and investigators came too. Their house will require a lot of work, so it will be a great service project for the branch. Now they live at a friend's house and it will be at least two months before they can move into the house.

A zone conference was also held in Pest on Friday and the main focus was on planning. It's odd that there won't be more zone conferences for me.

Church was good on Sunday, the Holy Spirit was strong, and many people shared their testimonies. I led the meeting and shared my testimony about President Nelson like you! A member also spoke of President Nelson and said that he was Hungary's living apostle. It sounds great! During Sunday school I taught about Teaching the Savior's Way, and then there was a temple preparation class which was a great success. In the evening, with the Hicks, we visited a sister. We gave her the sacrament and helped her with the writing of the branch history.

Today it was our P-day and Imre, from our English class, took us to see the Körös river, an old pump station, and lots of interesting things.

With much love,

Elder Gonzalez
